This past weekend, the Big Sur Technologies team had the privilege of participating in one of our favorite community events, the Girls on the Run 5K, hosted by Girls on the Run Greater Tampa Bay. As the official Finish Line Sponsor, Big Sur was proud to cheer on hundreds of young athletes as they completed a seas
on-long program designed to build confidence, resilience, leadership skills, and healthy habits in girls across Tampa Bay.
Supporting the Lanier Elementary Team
This year, we were especially excited to support the incredible team from Lanier Elementary. Throughout the season, these girls trained, learned, and grew together, and seeing their hard work come to life on race day was truly inspiring. Their smiles at the finish line captured the joy and pride that Girls on the Run encourages in every participant. Our involvement with Lanier Elementary reflects Big Sur’s commitment to encouraging youth development and supporting programs that empower the next generation in meaningful ways.
Kendal’s Experience as a Sparkle Runner
Big Sur’s own team member participated in the race as a Sparkle Runner. This role serves as a running buddy and motivator to the girls on race day. Sparkle Runners help keep enthusiasm high and make each participant feel supported from start to finish. Kendal shared that running beside her buddies and watching her push through challenges and celebrate milestones was one of the most rewarding parts of the event. The determination and excitement shown by the girls truly represent the heart of Girls on the Run.

Her dedication to ensuring each girl has a positive and empowering experience is evident in every stage of the program. Celebrating Every Finisher
The event was made even more memorable thanks to the Big Sur employees who volunteered at the finish line. Our team proudly handed out medals to every participant, helping ensure each girl felt recognized for her achievement. From cheers to high-fives, our volunteers helped create a finish-line experience filled with encouragement and celebration. The finish line represents more than the end of a race. It symbolizes perseverance, growth, and the belief that each girl is capable of achieving her goals. We are honored to have played a part in that moment.
Looking Ahead to Spring
