Big Sur Technology’s very own Sales Operations Manager Amy Fabian chaired the Valrico Fishhawk Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Back-To-School Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. The event was held on August 8th at Bloomingdale Senior High School in Valrico. Amy joined the Board of Directors for the Chamber in 2021 and has chaired the Back to School event since then.
Big Sur Technologies values community involvement with our team members offering specific days for volunteering opportunities. We recognize the vital role that educators play in shaping the future and impacting the success of our community. Big Sur’s Help Desk Manager Ashley Jones and Account Manager Elisabeth House also supported this event and were awed watching the teachers be given supplies and seeing the teachers feeling appreciated. The Chamber supports 18 schools in the Valrico/Lithia area. Each school’s principal was asked to invite six of its new teachers to attend the luncheon. As teachers are steady in preparation for the upcoming school year, local businesses sponsored each individual school generously donating classroom essentials and teachers must haves to ensure a great 2025/2026 school year.
Hillsborough District attendees including Superintendent Van Ayres and Board Members Patti Rendon and Lynn Gray spoke on behalf of the Hillsborough County School board giving praise and motivation to the teachers. Keynote speaker Steve Means, Retired NFL player spoke on his experiences through his own education empowering and inspiring teachers for their upcoming school year.
